Q: How do I join the SMSU Alumni Association?

A: Your SMSU Alumni Association membership is automatic and ongoing with no applications, fees, or renewals.

Q: What does the SMSU Alumni Association do?

A: The SMSU Alumni Association helps keep you connected for life with resources to create, sustain, and expand relationships with other alumni and the University. Learn more by browsing our Web site, or contact us by phone (800-260-0970) or e-mail (Alumni@SMSU.edu).

Q:  How do I get a copy of my transcript?

A:  Contact the
Registration Office or call 507-537-6207 for information or assistance with transcripts.

Q:  My contact information (name, address, phone, email, etc.) has changed. How do I update my records with the SMSU Alumni Association?

A.  To update your contact information online, go to www.SouthwestAlumni.com. You may also update information by calling us at 800-260-0970 or 507-537-6266 or mailing your information to: SMSU Alumni Association, 1501 State Street, Marshall, MN, 56258

Q:  I have lost contact with some of my friends from Southwest.  How can I reconnect with them?

A: Call the SMSU Alumni Association at 800-260-0970 or e-mail us at Alumni@SMSU.edu and we will do our best to assist you.

Q:  Where is the SMSU Alumni Association office?

A:  The Alumni Association is housed along with the SMSU Foundation on the second floor of Founders Hall (formerly the Administrative Services Building).

Q:  I want to bring my son or daughter to Southwest for a campus visit.  Who do I contact?

A:  Contact the SMSU Admissions Office for assistance with scheduling and planning a visit.

Q:  My son or daughter is thinking about attending Southwest. Is there any kind of scholarship opportunity available since I am a graduate?
A:  Yes! The SMSU Alumni Association currently offers Alumni Heritage Housing Awards and Scholarships to four incoming students. Click here to learn more.
