S.T.A.T Programs and Events
Mustang Traditions is a living and learning community that was developed by STAT to promotes Mustang Pride and SMSU Traditions while cultivating relationships between students and alumni by enhancing the college experience. This living and learning community is the crasiest community on the campus of SMSU. Living here, you are garenteed to have a great time, get involved and make a lot of friends here at SMSU. Due to the limited space, residents must apply through the Alumni office in order to be placed in Mustang Traditions LLC. Mustang Traditions is located in Ocean blvd.

The Homecoming Leadership Team has come up with great ideas for next years Homecoming festivities. The team is
planning a great week of events for the students, alumni, and the
community. STAT members work closely with other groups on campus to make sure that the entire week of homecoming is filled with fun! This years theme is Vote Stanger!

Thursday, January 28th
The SMSU STAT group lead students and community members in a nearly mile-long
walk/run called the Nearly Naked Mile. Participants striped off their
excess clothing and donated it all to the local clothing drive prior to the
race. Being
nearly naked is optional—you can donate your
clothing in a bag and run in your gear or up the ante and wear a great
costume. We will have contest for the best male/female costume, most
clothing donated, most school spirit, and the largest club participation. You must
donate at least one article of clothing to participate.
Senior Send-Off

For the second year in a row, STAT and the SMSU Alumni Association will sponsor a Senior Send off.
The senior Send off takes place immediately following graduation rehearsal each year. This event is for graduating seniors only. A valid ID is required to get into the event.
Mustang Karaoke Idol

Mustang Karaoke Idol is a hallmark tradition at SMSU. With over 250 people consistently in attendance, Mustang karaoke Idol gives students the opportunity to be a star! STAT works with pinnacle productions of Sioux Falls, South Dakota to bring music to the ears of the students. The winner of Mustang Karaoke Idol gets $200 CASH price at the end of the night. Tryouts are from 11 - 2 the day of and the final event begins at 7:00pm. The first 50 participents to try out receive a free homecoming T-shirt. Three Judges choose the final contestants for the evening, but the students vote on the winner for the night through an online voting system.
